Just because a James Jenkin witnessed Elizabeths marriage and her father was not shown as deceased doesn't mean he was alive at that time.!! CFHS rough burial index shows a James Jenkin buried 1844 & 1848 , death certs needed !

[233] A Marriage in register, 1788 unsigned and undated ( but between Jul & Oct 1788. .Dau. Elizabeth's Mar cert has Father James, 1851 census has Mother Mary (also widow)
