[30] May was born at her Grandmothers (Mary Jane's) house on Tresco, the bed was over a cache of Brandy / Rum and other contraband.
[31] The night that May's brother Clifford Roy was born (17/04/1910) a ship ran aground in fog. The next morning May was dressed in her best clothes to go to Sunday school but she ran accross the island to see the stricken ship and maybe see her father who was still helping to rescue cattle from the vessel. She slipped and fell in a muddy puddle, ruining her best clothes & was then in serious trouble.
