Emily committed suicide by drowning herself in Barmston drain, Ryde st. Hull. For some time she had suffered with violent headaches, but
various doctors could find nothing wrong and put her symptoms down to depression. Emily was upset at living in Hull and wished to return to
Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Ina said that during a family day out at Hessle foreshore Emily had slipped on muddy rocks and had banged
her head on a rock when she fell, Ina believes her mothers headaches were caused by the fall.
